All living organisms need to sustain their growth and survival. To do this, nutrients (sugars, amino acids, fatty acids, etc) are chemically reorganized within the organism on the cellular level. These nutrients undergo a series of biochemical and molecular changes carried out by enzymes, resulting in the generation of energy or essential building blocks, whatever is needed to cope with the demand.
